Marsh Evening-6x8

SOLD

this knife painting was a blast to do. you wait till just before the sun sets and try to get the thing done before it does.
its very exhilirating because at this time of day the color is changing every 15 minutes, the shadows are moving at breakneck speed and when i finished this painting the reflection was way off the right hand side of the painting and the color was completely different. when this happens you have to go strictly by memory.
i guess thats 'real' impressionism huh?

Awesome painting Mike. You sure have been getting a lot done.
Got a kick out of the Duct Tape and Red Bull. Nice odd couple piece.

And what were you doing with the duct tape?

i use duct tape for everything from making a wallet out of it to taping my messed up finger to the one next to it as a splint. i bet i use that stuff at least once everyday for something. i believe i'd be lost if i didnt have a big roll around at all times. its crucial to us plein air painters! ive even taped my easel to a dock railing one day when i couldnt find my bungee cords. that looked crazy!
when you going to do a knife painting. i cant wait to see what you end up with!

I'll have to work on a knife painting Mike.

I like Duct Tape too. I have a post on wet panel carriers to organize that relies on duct tape. Very versatile stuff.
