these colder mornings make me think of sitting on the porch in the florida keys eating breakfast in shorts. then that makes me want to paint something from there. so you'll probably see more than a few from there, as the weeks stretch into the holidays and colder temps.

in sad news, my friend Gene Munn, father of my cape cod gallery owner Liz Rowley, died peacefully sunday at the age of 94. I stayed with him the last three years I spent  there and grew sooo fond of him. i'll miss you gene! you were both an inspiration, and source of encouragement to me.

I'm so sorry about your friend.

See you in 10 days in ATL.

In reading some of your posts about gessoing over an old painting...you don't use an acrylic gesso over an oil do you? Are you using a gesso made for oil paintings? Just wondering or if you sand them down enough that an acrylic gesso is used. I enjoyed the post about how you cut your boards and the above painting in yellow is wonderful. Charles Sovek has a yellow house painting on his site that is a favorite..if the site is still up as I haven't looked in awhile.

nancy- I sand the paintings down to give the gessoe something to grab on to. then I use Jerrys acrylic gessoe. so far no problems
