Brings back memories of my one trip, in October, blissfully free of tourists, except for me and a few thousand others...

Fog in the morning, mostly burned off by 11. Judging by the tree shadows, and guessing that those are the Appennines in the background, that's about the time of your painting.

When you begin to think about lunch. And wonder if it's possible to find a bad restaurant. I never found one -- even at a city-run cafeteria at a trade show in Milan.

Amazing place. Great job in capturing it.

dave- youre exactly right! thats morning fog around 10 am. i love the osteria's, the equivalent of our casual grills but with five star Tuscan dishes like stale bread soup and spinach raviloli sauteed in butter and sage. MMMM.
thanks for the nice words about the piece!

Hi Mike.
I have just found your Blog and intend keeping an Eye on it. I especially love the "Tuscan fields" and The "Barbara Joe". Wonderful paintings. All the best Mike.
