Fog in the morning, mostly burned off by 11. Judging by the tree shadows, and guessing that those are the Appennines in the background, that's about the time of your painting.
When you begin to think about lunch. And wonder if it's possible to find a bad restaurant. I never found one -- even at a city-run cafeteria at a trade show in Milan.
dave- youre exactly right! thats morning fog around 10 am. i love the osteria's, the equivalent of our casual grills but with five star Tuscan dishes like stale bread soup and spinach raviloli sauteed in butter and sage. MMMM. thanks for the nice words about the piece!

i love to go outside and paint in bright sunlight. the way it acts when it hits objects. one day its a boat in a marina. the next its an urban street scene with people and cars. i show at about a dozen galleries from cape cod to key west.
