Taking a small break from my series of glass and fruit.
loved the way the light hit the shiny aluminum can in this one and painted it on a black gessoed canvasboard. really enjoyed just slapping the light colored paint on the dark paint. it looked like a can right off the bat and then i squinted and laid in the other color notes i saw.
like how this one came out. unfussed over and accurate.

Mike, this is straight up awesome. Yeah it's got that look like you just nailed the colors/values off the batt with ease.

thanks man. ever had one that you just looked at it, mixed it and laid it on with one stroke. went to the next shape and did it all over again. you know that one out of 50 that "falls off the brush"? you had it happen! its soooo cool when it does.
it sold on the blog in less than three hours. man these collectors know those kind too eh?
Mike,
This is a terrific painting. Wish I had seen it before it sold. You are really talented!
