Sometimes working out the value scale and color harmonies on a small piece like this helps you decide if you 'd like to pursue it further. if you dont have a buzz about doing it bigger you dont. if you're jazzed... you grab a bigger canvas. now you have all the elements memorized and you tend to paint it more confidently (and passionately) as a result.
