Saw this piece of fabric in a store last night and knew i'd enjoy painting it. threw oranges up on there, and stuck it in my still life setup (a cardboard box and photo lamps). reason i picked oranges? something with simple shapes to complement the complex fabric. i really like this piece since it marks the end of the "wall" ive been up against first part of the week. The mojo's back!

This is fantastic Mike. You are also excellent at still lifes. You know, I love landscape painting and that is what inspires me, but my recent works that sold were all still life paintings. My wife says I should do more. I guess she likes it when things sell:)
justin- thanks alot! had fun with the fabric on this one. my first temptation was so simplify it but i'm glad i described the embroidery pattern. it was hard but worth it on several levels.
funny how the wives help us remember that we have bills to pay with the products of our fun/craft eh?
